In today’s infrastructure construction, mineral exploration, and hydrogeological engineering, the performance of drilling equipment is directly related to project progress, cost control, and construction safety. Faced with complex and variable geological conditions, traditional drilling rigs often struggle to balance efficiency and adaptability. Recently, the SDL-280 crawler core drill, independently developed by the Sinovo Group, has brought a new solution to the industry with its innovative mechanical top drive design and excellent multi-functional drilling capabilities.
The SDL-280 drilling rig is a composite device that integrates both water well drilling and air drilling functions, effectively addressing two major pain points of traditional drilling rigs: the difficulty of drilling with pneumatic down-the-hole hammers in soil layers and the low construction efficiency of rotary drilling rigs in hard rock layers and gravel-cobblestone layers. Whether it’s for farmland irrigation wells, ground source heat pump holes, monitoring wells, or geotechnical engineering surveys and geophysical exploration blasting holes, this drilling rig can handle them all with ease. Its NQ wireline coring drilling depth can reach up to 350 meters, water well drilling depth up to 200 meters, and drilling diameters ranging from 75-220mm, fully meeting the needs of mid-to-deep geological exploration and hydrological engineering.
The core highlight of the SDL-280 lies in its combination of a five-speed manual gearbox and a mechanical top drive power head. This design brings three direct advantages: Firstly, it boasts an extremely wide speed range, with forward rotation at 33-1120rpm and reverse rotation at 37-180rpm, allowing for flexible matching of optimal parameters for different formations and drilling tools. Secondly, the forward and reverse rotation switching is convenient, effectively preventing drill jamming accidents. Thirdly, the mechanical transmission efficiency is much higher than that of hydraulic transmission, significantly reducing power consumption. Compared to traditional drilling rigs, the SDL-280 is more efficient and fuel-efficient under the same working conditions, truly achieving “green drilling”.
The SDL-280 utilizes the Yunnei YN27 diesel engine as its core power source, delivering a continuous output of 42kW to meet the demands of deep-hole high-load conditions. The travel system features 350mm wide rubber tracks with 56 track shoes, ensuring low ground pressure. The entire machine weighs 3.8t, with a stepless adjustable travel speed ranging from 0 to 2km/h and a climbing ability of 25-30°. It can pass through paved roads with low damage, and also demonstrates high mobility on harsh muddy sites – simultaneously enhancing site relocation efficiency and ground adaptability.
The SDL-280 crawler core drill has become a reliable choice in the field of exploration and well construction, thanks to its integrated capability of multiple functions, the efficient and energy-saving characteristics of its mechanical top drive, and its outstanding drilling performance in complex formations such as hard rock and gravel-cobblestone. What’ more, Sinovo Group will continue to be driven by technological innovation, providing more reliable and economical drilling equipment for users worldwide.
